TABLE OF CONTENTS

Recovery and longevity centres are one of the fastest growing parts of India's wellness market. Getting one right is mostly about planning: the right equipment mix for your clients, rooms that can take the equipment, and service you can rely on. This guide walks through the steps TechFit follows with founders.

1. Decide who the centre is for

A sports recovery studio, a longevity clinic and a hotel wellness floor need different things. Start with your clients: athletes, executives, ageing clients, or patients referred by doctors. That decides session length, pricing model and which machines earn their space.

2. Choose a core equipment stack

  • Hyperbaric oxygen: the anchor of many centres; see 1.5 ATA vs 2.0 ATA.
  • Cold exposure: cryotherapy, cold plunge or both; see cryotherapy vs cold plunge.
  • Heat: full spectrum infrared saunas.
  • Light: red light therapy beds and panels using 633 to 940 nm wavelengths.
  • Add ons: compression boots, PEMF, IHHT altitude training, dry float and 3D body composition scanning to measure progress.

3. Plan the rooms before the lease

Each modality has its own room needs. Hyperbaric cabins are heavy and need access for delivery; see HBOT room requirements. Cryotherapy needs ventilation and either a large electrical supply or nitrogen storage. Plunges need a waterproof floor and drainage. Saunas and red light beds need dedicated power. Check every room against the equipment before you commit to a space.

4. Power and utilities

Add up the loads early. As examples from the Alteon range: an IHHT unit draws about 800 W, red light beds from 1000 W to 4200 W, a cold plunge chiller about 1060 W, and an electric cryotherapy cabin up to 18.5 kW. Give sensitive equipment stabilised, dedicated lines.

5. Staff, protocols and safety

Train staff on every machine, write protocols for session length and contraindications, and set up client screening. Where you offer clinical services, work with qualified medical professionals. TechFit trains your team at commissioning.

6. Service, spares and AMC

Downtime costs revenue. Choose equipment with local commissioning, spares and an annual maintenance contract. TechFit, the authorised distributor of Alteon in India, supports installations across the country from Mumbai.

A real example

Matrix Wellness, Tiger and Krishna Shroff's centre in Santacruz West, Mumbai, runs 14 Alteon machines including HBOT, cryotherapy, cold plunges, infrared saunas, IHHT, PEMF and body composition scanning, all planned, supplied and installed by TechFit.

For the equipment itself, browse the Alteon range. For setup scope by facility size, read our wellness centre setup guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Most centres combine a few core modalities: hyperbaric oxygen, cold exposure (cryotherapy or cold plunge), infrared sauna and red light therapy, then add compression, PEMF, IHHT or body composition scanning depending on their clients.
It depends on the equipment mix. A focused studio can start with a few rooms; Matrix Wellness in Mumbai runs 14 Alteon machines. Plan each modality in its own room with power, ventilation and access checked before you sign a lease.
Yes. TechFit plans the equipment mix and room layout, supplies the Alteon equipment, installs and commissions it, trains staff and provides AMC across India.
